Welcome to the November issue of CPDR e-News. What a great month to hit the pause button and remember and reflect upon two significant days--- Veterans Day and Thanksgiving! We honor all our military veterans and thank them for their service to our great country.

All of us at CPDR wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving – full of thankfulness, family and friends and, of course, food (especially the pie!).

Here is what is happening at the Prostate Center.

Quarterly Guest Speaker Program: Thursday 1 Nov 2018

Speaker: Ms Robyn Rockwell, Registered Dietician, Certified Oncology Nutrition Specialist
Title: “Fighting Back with Your Fork: Nutrition and Prostate Cancer”
Time: 1900-2030
Locations:
     1. WRNMMC: America building, Bldg #19, 2nd floor, Room 2525, above the lab
     2. Fort Belvoir Community Hospital: Oaks Pavilion, 1st floor, Room S1.901- Library Lecture Hall (via video teleconference)

Family and friends are always welcomed (military and civilian).

Information/Support Group Meetings

Meetings are every 2nd Thursday of the month

Date: Thursday 8 Nov
Times: 1300-1400 and 1830-1930
Location: Urology Clinic (2nd floor, Sunrise Pavilion)

Note: A military ID is required to get on post at Fort Belvoir. Attendees without a military ID need to arrive at the gate about 1 hour before the meeting to complete paperwork for post access. Also bring some form of picture identification

Family and friends are always welcomed (military and civilian).

Information/Support Group Meetings

Meetings are every 3rd Thursday of the month

Date: Thursday 15 Nov
Times: 1300-1400 and 1830-1930
Location: River Conference Room, America Building, 3rd floor (next to Prostate Center).

Note: A military ID card is required to get on base. Attendees without a military ID need to call the Prostate Center at 301-319-2900 at least 4 business days in advance to complete paperwork for gate access approval. Also bring some form of picture identification at the gate.

Family and friends are always welcomed (military and civilian).

This quarterly newsletter provides a number of articles pertaining to prostate cancer that may be of interest to you and your family. It is published Feb, May, Aug, and Nov.
