Education and Training Offered by the Department of Surgery, USUHS Center for Prostate Disease Research (CPDR)

The postdoctoral training program has been a great success and has continued to grow since its inception. The Department of Surgery, USUHS, CPDR trains residents, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduates and high school students. The program has on average of 10 trainees per year. The CPDR provides great opportunities for the trainees to present their findings and to receive bold criticism on the CPDR’s Wednesday Seminars.

Moreover, the biweekly Science Hour is providing special opportunity for postdoctoral fellows to discuss their newest findings. Special experts of the prostate cancer field are invited to the CPDR on a monthly base, to address the latest findings of their research. The quarterly CPDR Saturday Seminar is featuring leading authorities of the prostate cancer field. Trainees have been provided with the opportunity to present their findings in one or two international or local conferences a year. The immersion of CPDR trainees to intense scientific debates is an important goal of the Training and Education Program at CPDR. As a result the CPDR is proud of the numerous invited presentations special awards, travel awards that our trainees were honored in the past.
