Current Newsletter - February 2010, Volume 19 Issue 1
The WRAMC US TOO Newsletter started as an eight
page publication intended for the military prostate cancer community
in the Greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. It grew rapidly under
the leadership of the late Bob Zveare, the founding editor. Initially
printed in 200 copies for local distribution, it is now printed in 1,900
copies with distribution far beyond "the Beltway."
The Newsletter is produced and distributed quarterly without charge
to the expanded readership. Corporate grants and individual donations
from the readership provide the financial wherewithal to sustain the
operation. There are no paid employees. Instead, the Newsletter relies
on volunteer effort from within the WRAMC US TOO board of directors
for its operation. The respective staffs of the WRAMC Urology Service
and the Department of Defense Center for Prostate Disease Research (CPDR)
also provide support and encouragement.
