in their lives. The truth is that prostate cancer is the leading cancer
among men in the US and the second leading cause of cancer deaths.
The
Center for Prostate Disease Research, a DoD program, offers state-of-the-art
research and therapies for prostate cancer and disease. The Center integrates
basic and clinical science to develop new detection techniques and treatments
for this disease.
Newly Diagnosed Prostate Cancer Clinic
The Center for Prostate Disease Research (CPDR) at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) has a special clinic for men with newly diagnosed prostate cancer called the "Multi-Disciplinary Prostate Cancer Clinic."

Recurrent Prostate Cancer Clinic
The CPDR at WRAMC has a special clinic for men who have recurrent or advanced prostate cancer. Urologic Oncologists and Medical Oncologists from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) work together to offer state of the art care.

The CPDR Multicenter National Database Program also seeks
to collect comprehensive data to learn more about prostate disease,
particularly prostate cancer, so we can develop more effective prevention,
diagnostic and treatment strategies.

United States Military Cancer Institute
The United States Military Cancer Institute (USMCI) is a tri-service program whose goal is to initiate, develop, coordinate and enhance multi-institutional cancer research, education and care within the military system.
Composed of military and civilian oncologists, the Institute is committed to bringing together the cancer resources of the Army, Navy and Air Force to more effectively respond to challenges presented by cancer among military beneficiaries.
